The alliance
The alliance „Nazifrei – Dresden stellt sich quer!“ originated in October 2009. Back then No Pasaran! , an alliance consisting of different antifascism groups, had organized a conference to be held in Dresden. The conference aimed to prompt more initiatives to participate in the mobilization and to promote the idea of mass blockades against Europe’s biggest Nazi march.
In February 2010 more than 12,000 people from various spectra succeeded in stopping the march.
This year the alliance was able to increase its size once more. Antifascism groups, unions, parties, youth and student organizations, initiatives as well as committed individuals participate actively in preparations which are essential for stopping the Nazis in February 2011 again.
